Illinois law recognizes loss of opportunity as an item of damages for a small business owner. See Hill v. Names & Addresses, Inc., 212 Ill. App. 3d 1065, 1081-82 571 N.E.2d 1085, 1995 (1991) (holding that the court did not err in awarding damages for lost business opportunities).
