A search was conducted in various on-line jury verdict and settlement databases for cases in Texas and Louisiana involving severe burns resulting in death.  The searches retrieved 6 Texas verdicts and settlements since 2002 ranging from $45,000 to $42,500,000 with an average award of $11,930,978.  Only one Louisiana verdicts and settlements was located since 2002—a $128,000,000 jury verdict.
